Roadworks on Khareband-Benaulim stretch pose danger to commuters

Widening of roads and casting of culverts/retaining walls is in progress at the Khareband-Benaulim road but the contractor has stockpiled material like road metal, coarse sand, aggregate and reinforcement rods on the shoulder without any peripheral protection or hazard warning lights. 

This stretch of road usually doesn’t have functional streetlights and there is a very grave danger of vehicles banging into the stored material at night. 

Some minor accidents have already taken place in this area.  I request the concerned authorities to take note and instruct the contracting agency to install all safety measures and fix warning lights before any major mishap takes place.
