PONDA: Shiroda locals have demanded with the State government to hot-mix some of the internal roads of Shiroda Constituency on urgent basis as they are in deteriorated condition.

Former Shiroda Zilla Panchayat member Jaydeep Shirodkar said that some of the internal roads in Shiroda need urgent attention of the government, which are in worst condition, since past many years.

He pointed out that the internal roads at Bhanamale, Choukune and Paaj Maal are in worst condition and even difficult to walk on them with almost no carpet on the road and entire gravel washed away in monsoon. The last time when the roads were hot-mixed was in 2008 and since then 13 years are neglected.

Shirodkar also highlighted the water plight. The wells at internal parts of Shiroda at Bhanmale and Choukune are dried up and the villagers are walking at distance places to fetch water.

“Those who have bike use it to get water but those who do not have faces water crisis as they have to labour hard for water. The PWD water tankers do not come here citing worst condition of the roads,” he said.

He recalled that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, ministers and MLAs had worked hard to get their BJP MLA Subash Shirodkar elected from this constituency in the by-election and even assured to solve their problems which he appealed to fulfil.
