Solve garbage issue at Mangor Hill

Solve garbage issue at Mangor Hill

Citizen Raju Ramamurthy Vasco

The Vasco port town has railway station, airport and a port facility. But the town is one of the most neglected towns in the State. Today, the Mangor Hill road leading to Gurudwara shrine and then touching Varunapuri and Airport at Dabolim is in dilapidated condition.

The road is dirty where children walk towards Kendriya Vidyalaya School. Mangor Hill road is a busy road used by the school going children and vehicles leading to airport. Just near the telephone exchange, there is garbage thrown and just next to garbage there are government horticulture shops and private vegetable shops.

The garbage gets spread across the road at night, though every morning the municipality vehicle clears the garbage, the same leaves a foul smell. Stray cattle and dogs search for stuff in the garbage and spread the same by the roadside. The road is left with garbage scattered and one cannot walk along the road.

I request the Mormugao Municipal Council to build a dustbin with a cover so as to avoid scattering of garbage on the road by cattle and dogs. Many oppose garbage centres, but if everyone object then there will be no place for dustbin, to collect garbage. Hence, the residents should not object to garbage point but proper care and precautions should be taken so that residents nearby are not affected.
