Trees pose danger to commuters at Cuncolim

Trees pose danger to commuters at Cuncolim

Citizen Vishal D’Costa Cuncolim

It has become a trend to call a fire brigade if any tree uproots. The Fire Department is swift for rescue operations and doing an excellent job. Many municipalities are taking their services for granted.

There is no pre-monsoon preparation or a survey done of their area by the Cuncolim municipal councillors. Everyone waits for a mishap to occur. A very dangerous situation persists in Cuncolim on the National Highway, where two trees, a dried coconut tree and an acacia tree pose a threat to the daily commuters/motorists.

Requesting the Cuncolim Municipality and Electricity Department to take immediate action and get these and many other trees cleared before any mishap occurs. Do not wait till one has to call for a fire brigade service. Hope better sense prevails.
