Which authority permitted this highway ‘dhaba’?

In an apparent blatant violation of existing highway rules, an electrified ‘dhaba’ has literally sprouted merely 250 metres from the Mandovi bridges. As the night falls, this mobile eatery comes alive, bringing with it the inconvenience and risk to motorists. 

With the well-lit ‘dhaba’ being on the footpath of the highway, pangs of hunger get motorists to stop for a bite, while dangerously parking on the highway. This occurs all through the night, with many drunken tourists – who get past the nakabandi at the bridge – patronising the meal maker. 

One wonders whether the authorities as well as the police are blinded by the night lights of the mobile food cart. It is also a matter of grave concern that some authority has granted permission to dangerously transact business by the highway. 

Hoping the North Goa Collector will initiate action at the earliest, before a tragic incident occurs.
