Will approach road to Bomyagall village become a reality?

SANGUEM: The locals of Bomyagall in Dessaiwada of Uguem Village Panchayat have urged the government for immediate construction of approach road to the village.

Despite frequent requests to the local MLA since past many years, villagers dream to have a blacktopped road in the village have remained a distant reality.

During every Assembly election, the politicians visit the village and assure them of the construction of road but the assurance is soon forgotten after the elections, claimed a villager Bhago Kale.

“It is only during the elections that the politicians visit the village for votes but after the elections there is no sign of any politician visiting the village,” Kale said.

The villagers mentioned that some 15 years back, the authorities had commenced with the construction of the road and had done the rubble rolling. However, soon thereafter the work was stopped and till date it is not completed, claimed another villager Dinesh Pingle.

Former panchayat member from Dessaiwada Anil Zangale said that it was during his tenure that the proposed construction of the road had commenced with due NOC from the landlord but the work was later stopped by the landlord for no valid reasons.

“Since then no Panchayat body or MLA has approached the landlord for getting the remaining part of the work completed,” claimed Zangale.

“The villagers are literally facing extreme problems in the absence of proper road facility and this needs to be looked after on urgent basis,” he added.

He further said that Bomyagall is having around 10 houses and the people have been residing in the village since prior to Goa’s Liberation. The ward was provided electricity during his tenure and since then there has been no development in the ward.
