MAPUSA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday informed that an Inspector-General of Police (IGP) rank officer is appointed to handle the administration of Colvale jail.
During his visit to Colvale Central Jail, Sawant said, “Three months back, the Prison Department was shifted from prison to police department where in an IGP rank officer was appointed to handle the administration. Major changes are witnessing during this period. Everything will be changed and proper discipline will be put in place,” the Chief Minister said.
Sawant was responding to a question asked by mediapersons regarding number of incident of drug trafficking, assault and other activities in the jail.
