Panjim: Goa's COVID-19 tally breached the 30,000-mark on Thursday as the State reported 673 new patients with coronavirus infection. 

The total confirmed cases now stand at 30,552.

The day also reported seven deaths whereas 490 people were declared cured. 

Since January 29, Goa has reported 30,552 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 5,822 are active cases. 

The mortality graph also continues to soar and touched the 383 mark. 

Further, a total number of 24, 347 persons have recovered till date after having got infected. The State's recovery rate is at 79.69%.

Of the total 8 deceased, four were admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital and two n ESI-Margao and one at Asilo hospital, Mapusa. All succumbed due to co-morbid condition. Two patients succumbed within ten minutes of being admitted to the hospital. 

As per the bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), a 40-year-old woman from Curtorim, 53 year-old man from Vasco, 57 year-old woman from Taleigao, 79 year-old man from Vasco, 76-old man from Karapur, Tisk, 70-old man from Fatorda and 83-old man from Siolim succumbed to COVID-19.
