MARGAO: Alleging that the BJP government has already sold River Mhadei to Karnataka, Western Ghats and coast line to crony capitalists for political benefit, Congress Working President and Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao on Wednesday demanded with the Chief Minister to make public the draft agreement with Isha Foundation with focus on agriculture and coasts.
He said that now, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant says that the government will ink an agreement with Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation with focus on agriculture and coasts.
“The Chief Minister should make public the draft agreement before signing it,” he demanded.
He said that the people of Goa have lost trust in the BJP government whose every decision is compromising the interest of Goa. People of Goa have the right to know what will be the exact role of Isha Foundation in the agricultural sector and coast line of Goa as stated by the Chief Minister.
“Let there be complete transparency,” stated Yuri Alemao.
“It is important that policy decisions need to be taken after deliberations in the Cabinet meetings and also taking opposition parties into confidence. The same should not be announced at a press conferences,” claimed Alemao.
He said that he is afraid of this government that may handover the cultivable agricultural land and pristine Goan beaches to some organisation to set up their centre in Goa.
“We need to be extraordinarily cautious and careful on every move of the Government,” he added.
Alemao hopes that the Chief Minister will take note of the alarm raised by him and act wisely.
