PANJIM: Congress on Friday said it will win both Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 elections.

Congress spokesperson Adv Ramakant Khalap said, “We will win both North and South Goa seats. We are confident. You see the wave.”

Reacting to the ongoing debate on the release of surgical strike footage, Khalap slammed BJP for using the fight of the Armed Forces to establish the credibility it has lost.

“Ahead of the elections, all of sudden footage of the surgical strike across the line of control has been released. BJP is using the surgical strike to establish the credibility it has lost,” he said adding, “BJP is projecting the surgical strike as if it is the only incident that proves the valour and strength of Indian Armed Forces.”

The senior Congress leader also slammed BJP’s act of observing the declaration of Emergency as a black day in Indian history. “Ahead of elections BJP has unleashed new thunder. Suddenly after nearly 42 years, BJP has woken up, and from gully to Delhi every leader seems to be busy lambasting former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi for the Emergency,” he said.

“The question is, why suddenly has BJP thought of observing this as a black day? Why suddenly have they thought of digging up a past skeleton? The answer is very clear, last four years the government has become a huge failure and that is what they want to divert people’s attention,” he stated.
