PANJIM: Panaji Block Congress Committee (PBCC) on Friday filed a police complaint against State BJP president Vinay Tendulkar for his statement threatening GPCC President Girish Chondakar of being attacked.

The complaint filed by PBCC Block President Prasad Amonkar states that Tendulkar at a public meeting threatened Chodankar of  being attacked in a similar manner as late Shantaram Naik was attacked by a mob (referred to as “Prasad”) a few years back outside the Legislative assembly.

The complainant states that Tendulkar’s act attracts offences of assault (Section 351) , criminal intimidation (Section 503), intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace (Section 504), statements conducing to public mischief (Section 505 ) and criminal conspiracy to perform the above acts (Section 120 B)  of Indian Penal Code.

PBCC has demanded that an FIR be registered in the case.

Reacting to this, Tendulkar said, “I had not said anything of that what is being claimed by the Congress. I had just said that we will be giving them 'Prasad' which we have got from Shirdi.”
