Says Minister’s assurance to write to Centre is a mockery of the people

PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Girish Chodankar on Sunday criticising at the statements made by Vijai Sardesai on beef ban said that Vijai should not try fooling the Goan people any longer, as “the cat is already out of the bag and everyone knows who imposed this government against wishes of Goans.”

“Vijai’s assurance to write to BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is a mockery, as the beef issue is the creation of the NDA government, of which Goa Forward is integral part. What people are expecting is action and not hollow demands or lip service through media,” Chodankar said.

“Sardesai is not in opposition but he is part of the government in Goa and at the Centre. His yesterday’s statement clearly reflects a confused mind which is saffronised in his lust for power. The chief minister has also turned a blind eye on the burning issue of beef ban and the recent inflammatory statements of Sadhvi Saraswati which are totally against the spirit and essence of Indian Constitution,” he said

He further said that it appears that Vijai is unsuccessfully attempting to clean up his brutally damaged image by blowing the trumpet on behalf of Parrikar. His tall claim of claiming himself to be ‘Goa Rakshak’ is another attempt to fool people.

“Vijai should either support BJP’s agenda openly or withdraw his support to the government, instead of playing with sentiments of peace loving people of Goa. One cannot be on both sides at same time. People of Goa have sent home such people in the past and will repeat the same when required,” Chodankar added.

Meanwhile, Chodankar further said that the recent statement by Goa Church questioning silence of State government over the statements by Sadhvi and those participated in All India Hindu Convention is speaking a lot about sentiments and insecurity of the people.

“Secular people are feeling increasingly unsafe under the rule of current government. Parrikar had launched Mission Salcette in the past to conquer Salcette. Vijai Sardesai is a refurbished face of Parrikar’s mission Salcette,” he said.
