Congress paying for its deeds: Vijai

PANJIM: TCP Minister and Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday, reacting to the resignations of two Congress MLAs, said the opposition party is paying for its deeds.

Sardesai, who has been at the receiving end of the Congress attack, also said that the leadership of the party is in wrong hands. “I think the two leaders joining BJP is the reflection of Congress politics. Congress tried to destabilise the government by making bombastic statements,” he said.

He added, “First, Ramakant Khalap said there is likely to be an earthquake and at that time I had cautioned them that the earthquake would be in their camp.”

Sardesai advised the Congress leaders not to talk about overthrowing the government when their own house is not in order. “Newton’s law of motion is also applicable in politics. Every action has equal and opposite reaction. Similarly, the Congress tried to destabilise the government and has resulted in destabilising themselves,” he said.

Further, taking an indirect dig at GPCC president Girish Chodankar, Sardesai said, “The representatives are tired of this game of Congress, the negative politics played by the party leadership at the State level and I think this is resulting in revolt by the Congress MLAs.”

“Congress leadership is in hands of those people who cannot get elected and don’t have knowledge of challenges faced by elected leaders,” he added.
