Mapusa: The North Goa District Congress Committee slammed the BJP lead government for rising crime rates in the State.

NGDCC President Vijay Bhike said, ”Every time the BJP government has come into power, crime rate in the State has gone up especially in Bardez taluka it may be prostitution, drug mafia as well as builder mafia.  From an incident of setting an activist ablaze to a child being chopped and thrown on the beach, the law and order in the State has completely collapsed. The criminals are not scared of this government and the Home Department, because this government is not serious as well the police are being pressurised.”

“Earlier drugs used to come from outside but now drugs are being cultivated in the State itself. Calangute MLA Michael Lobo who had declared that he will reveal names of people involved in drug mafia and prostitution. He should disclose these names or else Narcotics Control Bureau should investigate into this and call Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, Laxmikant Parsekar, Dayanand Mandrekar, Babu Ajgaonkar and question them regarding drugs menace,” Bhike added.
