Cotigao locals repair village road

COTIGAO: Locals from Mane-Cotigao repaired the village road which got washed away following incessant rains.  

Interestingly, a canal near this road was repaired recently on May 29, this year. A pipeline was also laid to divert water to the fields which was used for growing seasonal crops by local farmers.

It is pertinent to note that the first spell of rain got the mud washed onto the road, causing inconvenience to motorists. Several potholes on the road had made it difficult for riders as they had to commute along the bumpy route. 

Locals Datta Velip, Ashok, Purushottam Desai, Anil, Ram, Nagesh, Mahabaleshwar, Gurudas, Tolu, Devidas, Ulhas and others decided to repair the road rather than waiting for government machinery. The villagers thanked the volunteers for their timely efforts in the interest of the commuters.  

Meanwhile, farmers thanked Speaker and MLA Ramesh Tawadkar for seriously following up the canal issue to irrigate the fields.
