cuncolim: Cuncolim Police nabbed four persons in connection with the theft of two-wheelers from Cuncolim and nearby areas.
Police recovered the stolen property worth Rs 3,20,000 from the four accused namely Sachin Pednekar (23), Arjun Godbole (19) and Saddam Hussain (23) all residents of Cuncolim Industrial Estate and Arif Gauns Khan, a resident of Margao.
Sachin and Arjun were nabbed on August 26 by the police during night patrolling. Police recovered the two-wheelers, which were stolen from Quepem, Velim, Adnem, Margao and Cuncolim.
The accused had stolen the unlocked two-wheelers parked in front of the residences.
Both disclosed that they committed the thefts on the instructions of Saddam and handed over two-wheelers to him for sale.
Accordingly, Cuncolim Police swung into action and apprehended Saddam, who confessed to his involvement in the crime along with Sachin and Arjun. Saddam said he sold the stolen two-wheelers to a scrap dealer Arif at Rawanfond in Margao.
Cuncolim Police arrested Arif and recovered the stolen property worth Rs 3,20,000.
The operation was carried out by Cuncolim PI and his team, under the supervision of Margao SDPO Kiran Poduval and South SP Pankaj Kumar Singh.
