DM invites objections on Citizenship Act

PANJIM: The District Magistrate, North Goa has invited applications or objections under Sub Section 2 of Section 9 of Citizenship Act, 1955 accompanied by all supporting documents, within a period of three weeks from the date of issue the public notice was published.

This is being done for the purpose of enquiring into the issue of acquisition of Citizenship of another country by such residents and making appropriate recommendations to the Central government through in accordance with the procedure specified in Schedule III of the said Rules. 

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs had directed that the powers exercisable by it shall also be exercisable by the North and South Goa District Collector, North Goa and District Collector, South Goa for the purpose of enquiring into the issue of acquisition of Citizenship of another country by residents of the State of Goa.
