PANJIM: Following request from bidders, the Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) has granted final opportunity to the successful bidders to lift the e-auctioned ore, lying at various original locations, by extending time till May 31. Initially, the bidders were asked to lift their cargo by March 31.
DMG director Suresh Shanbhogue in an order issued on Monday has permitted the parties, who have already obtained transit permit to lift cargo but could not lift by March 31 to transport; while those who have not obtain permits are directed to declare the quantum of cargo on or before April 19 failing which the mineral would be forfeited without further communication.
Since January 2014, the department has so far sold around 15 million tonnes of ore through 27 e-auctions, generating revenue of Rs 1,500 crore. DMG had on January 31 had issued earlier order granting 60 days time.
“However, many requests have been received by the Government to extend the time for lifting the cargo citing various reasons. Accordingly, Government has decided to give time up to 31-5-2023 as final opportunity to lift the cargo from the primary location,” the fresh order stated.
Director said that in order to obtain fresh transit permit for lifting the cargo, all the winning bidders or the parties who have purchased the cargo from the winning bidder have to furnish complete details of cargo owned by them at the primary location on or before April 19, 2023 positively.
The details like e-auction number, stack number, location, quantity won and balance quantity to be lifted from the primary location of e-auction, total amount paid, etc. The bidders will have to submit agreement or documents along with sale of permit to authenticate that cargo is sold.
“In case the above information is not received from the parties on or before 19-4-2023 then it is presumed that they don't have any cargo to be lifted from the primary location and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained by the Government,” it said.
