Team Herald

PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) had identified various buildings in the capital city as unsafe and designated them for demolition, more than a decade ago. However, till date the CCP has not lifted a finger to demolish them, for reasons best known to the city fathers.

The dangerous city buildings pose a threat to citizens at large, pedestrians and most of all small stall owners and vendors in Panjim market area.

Two of the identified buildings are located bang in the market area posing a threat to people on a daily basis. One is a three-storey commercial building which houses the National guest house and stands over a number of small stalls in the market. All the stall owners and their customers are under a daily threat from the dilapidated building.
