Delay in investigating the complaint of my daughter’s murder says Siddhi's father

Panjim: On Tuesday a three-member Committee submitted a review report to GMC dean, asking for the police to look into the cause of the death of 19-year-old Siddhi Naik. On Wednesday morning, the parents of Siddhi Naik met the Goa Director General of Police. Siddesh Naik’s, the father of Siddhi Naik also alleged that there is a delay in police investigation after he lodged a murder complaint he also demanded quick action and justice for his daughter.

Speaking to media, Siddesh Naik said “There has been delay in the investigation of my daughter death especially after I lodged a murder complaint at Calangute Police station, Today, I met the DGP and have requested him to fastrack this case and give justice to my daughter. She did suicide, she was killed”, he added.

While on the other hand, mother of Siddhi Naik questioned about the investigation and post-mortem report given before, she asked who are the cops trying to save?

The medical board of Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, constituted to review the Siddhi Naik death case, submitted its report suggesting that the police must investigate the manner of death.

The medical board committee was constituted last week to revisit the medical findings in the girl’s death, following a complaint by the victim’s father suspecting foul play. The three-member committee comprising Head of Pathology Prof Dr Wiseman Pinto, Head of OBG Department Prof Dr Guruprasad Pednekar and Professor of Forensic Medicine Dr A V Fernandes submitted its report stating that the ‘manner of her death’ needs to be looked at by the police. The report submitted to the GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar stated the cause of Siddhi’s death was due to drowning but the police must investigate the “manner of death”.
