NUVEM: Large devotees attended the three-day Divine Bible Convention which concluded on Sunday, at the Divine Retreat Centre, Belloy-Nuvem.
Fr Michael Payyapilly, director of the Divine Retreat Centre, Colombo, who was the main speaker, expounded on the five senses which lead us closer to God.
The theme “He sent out his word and healed them and delivered them from destruction (Psalms 107:20)” was expounded in simple language to the large crowd which attended the convention.
Fr Michael requested the faithful to touch Lord Jesus and use the touch to love and serve others. Those who attended the convention claimed they were healed of different bodily ailments which were held from 3 pm to 5 pm on all days. The session included Gospel songs rendered by Jesus Band Gospel music band. Free tea and buns were provided to those who attended the convention.
Car parking at the centre was well organised by the volunteers who directed the vehicles to prevent any chaos, especially on the last day, Sunday.
Fr Sony Puthiyedam VC, Director of Divine Retreat Centre, Nuvem, also preached at the convention.
