NEW DELHI: In the case of opening of the dialysis centres in Goa, the Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the petition of Dr R Venkatesh against the Goa government officials' attempt to eliminate him by floating a tender to benefit the favourites.

He had come in appeal against the Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court dismissing on March 5 his writ petition to quash the tender floated in October 2016. His grievance was that he was running two dialysis centres, one since 2004 and another since 2007, by winning the government bids, but the new tender was so framed that he got eliminated despite providing the best services to the patients.

The Bench of Chief Justice Sharad Bobde and Justices R Subhash Reddy and A S Bopanna refused to entertain his special leave petition and dismissed it ex-parte, with no lawyer appearing from the Goa government.
