Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat on Wednesday told the House that illicit activities like drugs and prostitution are social problems that Goa is facing today.

Speaking on the demand of Home Department, Kamat said young school girls and boys, especially drop-outs, are getting addicted to drugs.

He said that as per government records, of the arrests made in prostitution cases since 2017, 13 per cent are women. “These are social problems, which government needs to weed out,” he said.
