PANJIM: EDM promoter Shailesh Shetty, seventh accused in the Vilas Methar murder probe, is likely to be brought face-to-face with the other accused as he was remanded to 5 days police custody on Wednesday.
Shetty was arrested on Tuesday on charges of criminal conspiracy. His role into the offence was being ascertained ever since a car, registered in his name, was found with Vishawajit Dabolkar and Pawan Bhadigar, first two to be arrested in the case. Dabolkar and Bhadigar had escaped to Sindhudurg in Shetty’s car.
“Shetty could be interrogated face-to-face with other accused. There is certain evidence linking him with the offence. More will be unearthed in further course of the probe,” a source said.
Among seven accused, one is a real estate businessman, from whom Methar had alleged threat. The Torda victim was burnt to death on October 14.
