EVMs used in the South Goa LS constituency officially sealed and secured

MARGAO: The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the South Goa Lok Sabha constituency have been officially sealed and secured at the Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law in Margao.

The sealing of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was conducted under the supervision of Election Commission of India (ECI) appointed Election observers, along with Returning Officer Asvin  Chandru, IAS and other election officials. This process ensures transparency and accountability in the handling of electoral materials.

When contacted, officials at the office of the Returning Officer in Margao confirmed that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been securely stored and sealed in the strong room of the Kare College of Law. 

Srinet Kothwale, Additional Collector of South Goa, has informed that the strong room where the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are stored will be under constant CCTV surveillance.

The entire process of sealing and signing of election documents was completed smoothly and without any issues.

According to sources, INDIA Bloc Congress candidate Captain Viriato Fernandes and a group of Congress workers maintained a vigil at the Kare College of Law until the time of sealing of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). 

Para-military personnel have assumed responsibility for the security of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), ensuring their protection round-the-clock until the day of the counting scheduled on June 4.
