PANJIM: The South Goa District Magistrate has reconstituted the Enforcement squads for Salcette, Dharbandora, Ponda, Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem and Mormugao talukas for enforcing the effective implementation of the illicit drug/cigarettes and other tobacco products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 for entire South Goa talukas.
The Enforcement squads are directed to take action on illicit tobacco products which are in circulation without paying taxes including other Sections under COTPA Act, 2003.
