BICHOLIM: The Bicholim Mamlatdar's office has made all the arrangements to supply the essential items to the people from three micro containment areas in Sanquelim.
"I along with the Deputy Collector Deepak Vaigankar convened a special meeting to review the arrangements such as distribution of essential commodities, law and order situation, screening of patients, sanitisation, uninterrupted power and water supply in the containment zones at Bandarwada, Desai Nagar and Gauthan," Bicholim Mamlatdar, Pravinjay Pandit informed.
The meeting was attended by officials of Health, PWD, Electricity, Police and WRD. The Sanquelim municipal councillors were also roped in..
"Essential commodities are provided by North District Administration through Bicholim Mamlatdar office. My staff members do the same with assistance of volunteers and councillors," Pandit added.
"Most people in the containment zone are satisfied as they are provided with all the necessary things and there is no need for them to move out. At times those in the containment zone also call up their friends and through them they arrange the necessary things," Hanif Baig from Sanquelim said.
A squad has also been deputed in the area to create awareness on COVID-19.
