Foundation for new CMC building laid

CANACONA: Urban Development Minister Milind  Naik laid the foundation stone  for the proposed reconstruction and extension of municipal building costing Rs 11 crore at Chaudi. 

Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes thanked the minister for approving the construction of the building. Fernandes also requested the minister to allocate more funds for a crematorium. 

Naik conveyed his department’s willingness to modify the drawings of the proposed municipality building if necessary.

The 10 crore multi utility building is supposed to be a prestigious project which is funded by GSUDA under Integrated Development of Small and Medium Towns and is going to be commissioned in two years once the work starts. The state of the art building to be constructed with ground plus two floors and will have municipal administrative block with all modern amenities and commercial spaces cost 11 crores.
