Four patients with dengue found in Morpilla

CUNCOLIM: The Health Department has taken immediate precautionary measures against the dengue outbreak in Morpilla panchayat area, where four patients tested positive and around 30 patients have been identified as probable with dengue.

The Balli Health Centre has started fogging the infected area with the help of locals. Former Quepem MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar has also extended his help in fogging the affected area.

Sources from Morpilla Panchayat suspect the cases of Dengue may be more.

The Balli Health Centre has appealed to those who have a fever to be tested and those who are suffering from body aches and high temperature also get checked at the immediately.

Seeing the increasing number of patients, it is learnt that a specialist of the Health Department and vector-borne diseases will visit the village and inspect the gravity of the outbreak.

The village has drinking water problems and people are storing water in plastic barrels, which has led to an increase in the number of dengue mosquitoes. The entire village will be sprayed and blood samples will be collected from the people if required, a source from the BHC said.

A number of dengue patients have been found within the limits of Quepem Health Centre also. Doctors of the health centre have appealed to the people to take precautionary measures.
