Vasco: Mormugao police arrested four people from Headland sada for allegedly installing the Ganesh idol inside a temporary shed at Headland Sada on Tuesday. Police Inspector Paresh Naik assured that police patrolling has been intensified to avoid any law and order situation.
Police Inspector Paresh Naik added that he had also spoken to the sub-divisonal magistrate, who informed him that a show-cause notice was sent to the shed for demolition.
He added that an FIR has been registered for violating section 144 under section 188 CRP and 269 IPC and section 51 B of Disaster Management Act. The complainant, Mamlatdar Hiren Banaulikar asked for police protection to remove the idol from the controversial shed which was given by the police. Later the idol was removed from the shed and placed in the room where the police keep idols for worshiping. The four people later received bail.
