Free eye check-up camp held in Panjim

PANJIM: The Indian Red Cross Society Goa State Branch organised a free eye check-up camp to mark the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day at Panjim on Wednesday. 

The camp was held in collaboration with the Ophthalmic Department of Goa Medical College, Bambolim.

During the inaugural session, Indian Red Cross Society Goa Branch chairman Gaurish Dhond said that IRC Society has been rendering yeoman services to the mankind.  Indian Red Cross is working across the World towards helping humanity. It has significantly contributed in the field of medical aid and health care services to the needy people in the State.

Vice-chairman Manguirish Pai Raikar informed about various activities and services being conducted and extended by the IRC Society for the people in need.

Earlier, to mark the birth anniversary of Red Cross Society founder Jean Henry Dunant rich tributes were paid by the dignitaries.

The theme of Red Cross Day 2024 is ‘Keeping Humanity Alive’. It was informed that the eye check-up camp evoked good response, wherein people from different walks of life availed the services of free eye check-up.

IRC Society general secretary John Aguiar welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
