PANJIM: The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) for admissions to professional degree courses such as engineering and pharmacy will be held on July 4 and 5. The new time schedule has been announced by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). 

In the view of COVID-19 pandemic, the GCET, scheduled initially on May 5 and 6 had to be deferred. 

DTE said that the tentative examination for physics and chemistry paper would be held on July 4, while Mathematics will take place on July 5. 

The candidates are directed to submit their applications online on or before June 10. 

The online facility will be available from May 26. 

"Only candidates aspiring for admissions to Engineering and Pharmacy courses in Goa State need to appear at GCET-2020," DTE said.

NEET, organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA), for admissions to medical, dental and AYUSH programmes, will be held on July 26.

Also the JEE Main examination will be conducted from July 18 to July 23. Over 19,600 students will appear for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination for general papers beginning from Saturday with Language Paper I. 

Meanwhile, the HSSC board examination concluded on Friday.
