Ponda: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, said that Farmagudi-based Goa Engineering College’s (GEC) new hostel will be set up as 80 bedded COVID Care Centre for treatment of corona patients with mild symptoms; while the serious COVID-19 positive patients will be treated at the ESI hospital in Margao.
Gaude, who is also the Priol MLA He inspected the facilities on Tuesday along with the Pondy Deputy Collector, mamlatdar and other government officials.
He added that the government is now waiting for the new MHA guidelines regarding COVID patients.
He further stated that the health staff of various Primary Health Centres at Dharbandora, Marcaim and Bethki, would visit every 72 hours at the hostel to attend to the patients who would be admitted here.
