MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Monday questioned the government on the status of stranded seafarers repatriation.
"What's the status of repatriation of stranded Goenkars? Many are crying to be rescued, especially those retrenched by small companies who can’t afford charter flights. Will they figure in the next phase of Vande Bharat Mission", Vijai asked.
"The Goa Government is only milking big companies with no plan for others, who they cannot milk," he alleged.
"Why SOP agreed announced by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on June 10 after all-party meet is still not notified by the Collectors? Is it leeway to use as per whims & fancies depending on pressure? Why it isn’t applied to those coming by air? Will this Government listen to distressed cries of stranded Goenkars," he asked.
