PONDA: The Goa Pradesh Youth Congress members gathered at Curti on Wednesday demanded with the government to repair all potholed-ridden roads in the State.

The Youth Congress members criticised the government for only hot-mix carpeting of roads at Curti and other places that will be visited by Union Home Minister Smith Shah.

The Goa Pradesh Youth Congress suggested that the BJP government to take Union Home Minister Amit Shah across the State, so the dilapidated roads gets repaired and people get sigh of relief. How the roads are repaired in Curti-Ponda on account of visit of BJP leader to inaugurate the classes of National Forensic Sciences University.

GPYC President Adv Varad Mardolkar, along with General Secretary Archit Naik, South Goa District President Ubed Khan, Ponda President Zakwan Mulla and others addressed a press conference outside the Guest House at Curti and said that the BJP government is more concerned about Its Central leaders than Goans.

"The BJP government led by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant ensured that Amit Shah will have a safe journey in Goa and hence replenished all the roads right from the airport to sites where he is supposed to visit. I feel that if roads are getting repaired for Amit Shah, then BJP should take him across Goa and repair all roads which have potholes," Adv Mardolkar said.

He said that people are suffering due to the potholes on the roads. However, the government is not bothered by the same.

"This made us to start spot the potholes campaign in Goa. We are receiving good support and feedback as potholes are seen everywhere," he said

Adv Mardolkar said that promise given by Dr Pramod Sawant to repair all roads by November 1, is to save himself from embarrassment.

"He won’t be able to fulfil his own saying," said Mardolkar.
