Get back land and build infra: Valpoi

VALPOI: Vandana Pandurang Gawas the Sarpanch of Mauxi Panchayat has said they were not owners of land on which they were staying for fifty years. They were staying on Goa Daman and Diu land. With 862 houses in the panchayat area on government land, her first priority would be to get ownership of their land from the Goa Government.

VALPOI: Vandana Pandurang Gawas the Sarpanch of Mauxi Panchayat has said they were not owners of land on which they were staying for fifty years. They were staying on Goa Daman and Diu land. With 862 houses in the panchayat area on government land, her first priority would be to get ownership of their land from the Goa Government. 

She said “Our main occupation is agriculture. The people depend on cashew plantation and other agriculture crops for example rice, areca nut, banana etc. But for several years, animals are destroying our agriculture crops. To get permission to shoot forest animals from the government will be my second priority".

Nitin Shivdekar, the Sarpanch of Bhironda Panchayat would like to provide employment especially for the educated youth in his panchayat area and 24 hours water and electricity supply in the whole Panchayat immediately. 

He would also like to build a community hall and develop hot mix roads to all seven Panchayat wards. In addition he would like to develop the village river and help it become a famous tourist spot. This he said was his development plans for the panchayat.

Pissurlem Sarpanch, Jayashree Devanand Parab said the VP is facing major such as water shortage and bad roads especially the internal ones.

 He said "I want to build a water tank in the panchayat area and hot mix all the panchayat internal roads. This are the two main things, I will do first.
