Goa’s second Opinion Poll on February 14, says Sardesai

FATORDA:  Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai, emphasising the need for every Goenkar to grasp the importance of voting in this elections said, “The upcoming Goa Assembly election is the second Opinion Poll that will decide whether Goa will be saved or Goa will be sold.”

“In 1967, if it was our identity that was threatened, in 2022, our whole State is under threat of being sold to land mafias; our lives and livelihoods are jeopardised, our children’s future compromised,” warned Sardesai.

Speaking during the door-to-door campaign for Deepak Kalangutkar, the Congress-GFP alliance candidate for Mandrem, Vijai urged the voters to actively support and ensure Kalangutkar’s victory. “Deepak is a son of the soil. He is a fresh face, most humble, approachable, and ready to face any hardship to take Mandrem forward. He should be given a chance,” said Sardesai, pointing to the fact that rest of the candidates have all contested before.

“There’s a momentum going for Congress-GFP alliance, which people know is the only strong, credible and secular force that’s capable of eradicating the BJP virus, and people all over Goa have realised that selfish political parties from Bengal and Delhi have come here at the last minute to split anti-BJP votes and get Pramod Sawant back to power,” said Sardesai, referring to both the Trinamool Congress and AAP and their real role as BJP’s B-Teams.

“Why has Trinamool Congress not put up a candidate against Pramod Sawant if their main enemy is BJP? Why did they put their biggest leader against me in Fatorda, even when I keep opposing BJP tooth and nail?” asked Sardesai.

The TMC-MGP alliance candidate is Jit Arolkar who had contested before and lost. “MGP was a lifetime ally of the BJP, and by aligning with them, TMC has grown closer to the Sangh Parivar,” said Sardesai.

Lashing out at the inefficiency and credibility of the sitting MLA and BJP candidate Dayanand Sopte who had defected from Congress, Sardesai branded him as a betrayer and said voters have to think carefully who they cast their vote for. “With the new Airport coming up, lot of people would be eyeing the local Goan lands and thinking of ways to grab it. We need strong Goemkar leaders who will stand up and fight for the rights of the locals. That’s why Mandrem needs Deepak Kalangutkar as their MLA,” said Sardesai.
