Total pass percentage drops to 92.38% this year from last year’s 96.64%; Canacona records highest pass percentage of 95.02% while Sanguem registers the lowest of 69.60%

Teand Higher Secondary a (GBSHSE) declared results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference at Porvorim, Goa Board Chairman Bhagirath G Shetye said that out of 18,914 students, who appeared in the a, 17,473 students cleared it, registering an overall passing percentage of 92.38 per cent.

He said of the 9,318 boys, who appeared for the exams, 8,555 passed, recording a passing percentage of 91.80 per cent, while of 9,596 girls 8,918 cleared the exams, registering a passing percentage of 92.93%.

Shetye said results of 97 students has been placed in reserve category as many schools have not sent internal assessment and practical marks and change in subject. 

The Goa Board Chairman said a total of 464 Diyang candidates had appeared in the examination and out of them 407 cleared it, registering a pass percentage of 87.72 per cent.

He said 291 students appeared for the examination with pre-vocational subjects and out of them 223 cleared it, registering a pass percentage of 76.63 per cent.

A total of 6,727 students availed benefits of under sports merit marks and out of them 263 cleared it, recording a percentage of 1.51 per cent.

Shetye said the pass percentage in 2023 was 96.64 per cent, in 2021 99.72 per cent, 2020 92.69 per cent while in 2019 it was 92.47 per cent.

He said the tentative date for the supplementary examination is June 10, 2024. He said Canacona taluka registered the highest pass percentage with 95.02 per cent while Sanguem recorded the lowest pass percentage of 69.60 per cent. He said the distribution of schedule of SSC April Exam 2024 statement of grades or marks to the schools will be from May 21, 2024.
