Goa Shipyard ties up with 10 leading firms for projects worth Rs 80,000 cr

VASCO: Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) signed 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with leading public and private firms in line with the Union government’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’, at the Aero-Indis 2023 show held at Yelahanka, Bengaluru from February 13 to 17.  

 These MoUs worth Rs 80,000 crore were signed during the Bandhan ceremony presided over by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.  The aim of these MoUs is to build indigenous capability in specialised fields of Electronics, Pneumatics, Commercial Shipbuilding and Exports, which will further boost the government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.  

 These MoUs forged partnerships with major firms like electronics behemoth BEL, Maritime Monitoring Group AS, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Maritronics India Pvt Ltd, Smart Engineering & Design Solutions, Brol-ich Marine Electronic Engineering, Electro-Pneumatics & Hydraulics (India) Pvt Ltd, PT Aaron Jaya Inter-nasional, Indonesia etc in the field of niche technologies and for promoting exports.  

 A delegation from Goa Shipyard Ltd led by its chairman and managing director Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay attended the mega event at Bengaluru.  The five-day Aero-India show saw the participation of 811 exhibitors and unprecedented participation of 98 countries.
