Goa records over 3000 COVID-19 cases, seven deaths on Sunday

PANJIM: Goa recorded 3232 new cases of novel Coronavirus and seven deaths during the past 24 hours, the directorate of health services said on Sunday. 

With the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of COVID-19 infections in the State increased to 2, 10,475 while, the death toll rose to 3557.

Of the seven deaths reported on Sunday, six patients were not vaccinated while a 71-year-old man from Mapusa was vaccinated with both doses. 

A total of 1922 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases in the State to 1, 85,537.

Recovery rate in the State currently stands at 88.15 per cent and the positivity rate is 45.85 per cent

Also 3201 patients were advised home isolation, 32 were admitted to hospitals while eight patients were discharged on Sunday.

During the same period, as many as 7049 new samples were tested, taking the cumulative number of samples tested in the State so far to 17,30,687.
