PANJIM: With just two years left for the State assembly polls, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has directed the party workers to target 30 plus seats in 2022.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the BJP Karyakarta Sammelan wherein Sadanand Shet Tanawade was officially named the president of the party’s State unit.
Addressing a large gathering of workers in the presence of national observer, Avinash Rai Khanna, Sawant rued the fact late Manohar Parrikar will not be there to guide the workers.
“Despite winning just 13 seats we have managed to form government and reach a figure of 27, due to Manoharbhai,” Khanna said adding “in his absence every karyakarta will have to don the responsibility to take the party ahead”.
He said that with just 24-25 months left, the workers will need to work hard for party’s success again.
The BJP, which was reduced to just 13 seats in 2017, managed to split the opposition Congress and the regional party and then alliance partner MGP to reach the figure of 27.
