MARGAO: The Holy Spirit feast was celebrated at the Holy Spirit Church, Margao, on Sunday

The Bishop of Ranchi and native of Ambora, Salcete, Theodore Mascarenhas, was the main celebrant for the feast Mass.

In his homily, he spoke about the life of Mother Mary and the Holy Spirit, which he said guides us and gives us courage, peace and joy.

He also advised the faithful to be merciful to others and requested the youth to be faithful to their mothers.

‘Povitr Atmea Denvun-Ie’, an audio CD of hymns by the Cotta family, was also released at the hands of the Bishop.

Incidentally, the Holy Spirit feast, widely known as ‘Purumentachem Fest', is also famous for the sale of various household items, like spices and dry fish.
