MARGAO: For the very first time, a university from the United Kingdom has come down to Goa to recruit students. University of Cumbria held a spot student assessment and seminar at Margao where hundreds of students came and took advantage of the seminar.

Wikati Education which is based in UK and recruits students to universities of UK is the coordinator of the seminar and are the sole recruiters for University of Cumbria, which offers graduate and post graduate courses in business, law, media studies, social sciences and other subjects.

“It is an advantage for Goan students to learn in UK especially University of Cumbria because a post graduate course can be completed in one year instead of two years in India. The costs too are similar or less as there are lots of students support facilities in the University,” said Regina Dias, the International Marketing Manager of Wikati Education for India.

University of Cumbria is ranked in the top 100 and has won awards for the second best Law School in UK, listed in the top three Nursing Universities in NW England and also won the award for the best Business School.

“The University gives training and prepare student recruits for the tests of IELTS and get the student ready for the courses” Regina said.

Wikati Education has its registered office in Margao in Comba above the Bread & More bakery.
