Govt allows casinos to pay annual fees in monthly pro-rata basis

PANJIM: The Home department, Govt of Goa has issued a notification allowing the casinos to pay annual recurring fees for the financial year 2020-2021 on monthly pro-rate basis.

“The annual recurring fees for the financial year 2020-2021 shall be calculated on monthly pro rata basis and the payment thereof in respect of the month of November, 2020 up to March, 2021 shall be made on or before the 5th day of such respective month. The schedule of payment of the unpaid annual recurring fees in respect of the month of April, 2020 up to October, 2020 shall be as specified by the Government by an order published in the Official Gazette,” the notification says.

The Government has kept the annual recurring fees unchanged. Following are the annual recurring fees

In case of a land based casino with pan area up to 110 square metres - Rs 10 crore; casino with an area above 110 square metres but up to 330 square metres - Rs 20 crore; casino with an area above 330 square metres but up to 550 square metres - Rs 25 crore; casino with an area above 550 square metres but up to 825 square metres - Rs 32 crore; casino with an area above 825 square metres but up to 1,100 square metres - Rs 36 crore ; casino with an area above 1,100 square metres Rs 40 crore.

For a casino license of off-shore casino on board the vessel, of capacity up to 220 passengers - Rs 25 crore; a vessel that’s having total passenger capacity above 220 but up to passengers 440 - Rs 30 crore; vessel having total passenger capacity above 440 passengers- Rs 40 crore.
