Govt issues advisory for foreign nationals traveling from China

PANJIM: As the fear of deadly coronavirus continues, Goa government issued an advisory announcing that all existing visas including eVisas already issued, are no longer valid for foreign national travelling from China.

Moreover, the govt has also decided that people traveling to China henceforth will be quarantined on return to Goa. Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has issued advisory to travelers in view of the spurt of Coronavirus cases. “It is informed that existing visas (including eVisa already issued) are no longer valid for any foreign national travelling from China, People traveling to China henceforth will be quarantined on return," the advisory states. 

The State has asked the intending visitors to contact Embassy in Beijing ([email protected]) or the Consulates in Shanghai ([email protected]) and Guangzhou ([email protected]) to apply afresh for an Indian visa. DHS has also stated that there is no confirmed case of Coronavirus in the State till date. 46 people were kept under observation while total six samples were sent to NIV Pune for testing were reported negative.  Screening at the international airport and port is underway.
