Govt makes employment registration online

PANJIM: With several government departments moving towards digital transformation, the Department of Labour and Employment, under minister Rohan Khaunte on Monday launched the online registration of employment card.

Hereafter, services rendered under Employment Exchange service manual related to registration, renewal, additional, submission and placement will be offered online. 

“The government is transforming the manual service rendered by Employment Exchange on Online Portal (www. goa-online.gov.in) and is committed to ensure that the services rendered under Employment Exchange service manual related to registration/renewal/additional/submission/placement are offered online, thereby eliminating the manual process in interest of jobseekers/career aspirants,” Khaunte, also the minister for IT, said.

He said that the youth, already registered with the EE, will have to migrate to the new digital method on www.goaonline.gov.in.

“Henceforth, the employment card issued by Department of Labour and Employment, generated through online portal shall be treated as jobseekers/employment registration card at all job fairs,” he said. The existing valid employment card will remain in force till February 28, 2019. 

He stated that data of all the registrants of Employment Exchange, Goa, have been migrated on the portal and it needs to be activated by the registrants with valid Employment Card number by February 28, 2019. To avoid duplicity and to maintain the authenticity of data, Aadhaar Card number is mandatory to get enrolled on the portal.

Further, he said that the every person employed will have to register compulsorily on Labour Department website for a Smart Card, which will be issued at Rs 75.

“This will help us to prepare a database of employment in the State,” he said adding for both the purposes there will be offline counters also at many places to help people.

The department also launched the registration of Building and construction workers.
