Govt updates vaccination  drive for frontline workers

PANJIM: The State government on Tuesday has updated vaccination drive for frontline workers. 

The vaccination sessions have been scheduled in all the talukas of North Goa District for frontline workers from February 24 to 28. 

All the frontline workers who are registered on Cowin portal are advised to visit any vaccination booth as per their convenience before February 28. All the booths work from 9 am to 5 pm. They are also advised to carry one photo ID card to verify their identity.

Meanwhile,  North Goa Collector Ajit Roy has directed all staff and officials of collectorate and sub-offices to take first dose of vaccine by Thursday, February 25 without fail, since the ongoing vaccination drive was way below the acceptable benchmark.

In the memorandum, the Collector said, “As you are aware country and whole world is fighting COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India has started vaccination of its health care workers and frontline workers. Only few scheduled beneficiaries have turned up for vaccination in North Goa which is way below the acceptable benchmark.” 

He has asked officials incharge to take the responsibility to see that all the staff are being vaccinated. Also AEROs have been asked to ensure that BLOs working with them also take vaccine latest by February 25.
