PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday said that the government will rebuild the house of Mauzikar family posing danger due to overgrown banyan tree and that he is committed to assisting people of Sattari taluka, facing adversity.
“We are committed to assisting our people of Sattari in the face of adversity,” he said taking note of the news item ‘Mauxikar family lives in fear of overgrown banyan tree’ published by Herald dated May 14, 2022.
Rane said, “An overgrown banyan tree has fallen on the house of Sandhya Mauxikar from Mauxi panchayat. I have taken cognisance of the issue and assured her my total support in rebuilding her house before monsoon.”
Due to danger posted by the banyan tree as the overgrown roots have damaged part of the house, Mauxikar family is currently confined to a small space in their own home. The tree also affected their livelihood as the family had to close their bakery business.
