Guv visits Archbishop’s House, Mangeshi Temple

PANJIM: Governor of Goa P S Sreedharan Pillai visited the Archbishop’s House and Shree Mangeshi Temple, on Saturday. 

On the invitation of Archbishop Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao, the Governor visited the Archbishop’s House at Altinho, here.  On his arrival, he was received by the Archbishop. The Governor evinced keen interest to learn about the history of the House. The Governor presented a fruit basket to the Archbishop as a gesture of good will. 

Secretary to the Archbishop Fr Joaquim Loiola Pereira, Secretary of Diocesan Society of Education Fr Jesus Rodrigues, ADC to Governor Vishram Borkar and others were present on the occasion.

The Governor and First Lady of Goa Adv Rita Sreedharan also visited Shree Mangeshi Temple at Mangeshi-Ponda, where he invoked blessings of the deity. 

The Governor was received by the President of Temple Subrai Nadkarni and Secretary Sudin Ambe. Nadkarni briefed the Governor and other dignitaries about the history of the temple.

Mementos and books containing the history of Shree Mangeshi Devasthan were also presented to the Governor by Nadkarni.
