High tension lines posing  risk to some Curti houses

PONDA: Despite knowing about the danger overhead many people have taken risk and had constructed houses under high tension 33 KV lines passing from Curti area. 

While some are exactly under high tension line while some are situated close to them. It is learnt that the government never allows permission under high tension lines.  

Curti locals said, “The government authorities should take proper action into the matter so that their lives are not risked.” 

According to Curti locals the 33 KV line is passing form Curti to Birla-Vasco. Some ground plus one building are also seen progressing at Curti under this high tension lines. 

When asked the labourers working under high tension line for ground plus one building at Curti they were unaware about the danger of high tension lines.

Curti local Narendra Naik expressed fear that incase if wire is snapped during cyclonic wind, heavy rains or lightening it would prove risky to the life of local occupants.

Sarpanch Gurudas Khedekar said, “Though such houses are existing below the high tensions lines, the panchayat has not given permissions to such constructions.”

Narendra Naik said, “In the past, one youth had lost his life after coming in contact with high tension line. I don't know how the TCP or panchayat allowing this under high tension line which is risky to life of the people.”
